Like the coaches and players we try to follow, we also want to improve with each game.
We, too, want to make your sports section the absoulte best it can be from week to week.
This is why readers will begin noticing changes throughout the B section, beginning largely with this week’s new elements such as the player feature on Chiefland’s own Halie Hammond or the “Who Knows Best?” section at the bottom of the page.
The goal is to include at least one feature, a column and the “Who Knows Best?” segment in every copy of the paper moving forward. This includes the summer months, when we’ll follow summer teams, non-traditional sports and even our local football players as they prepare for the fall.
Unlike the players and teams we highlight, our games are only played once a week, and if we have an off-game, it can be a long following week for sure.
We’ll make mistakes, and already have. We’ll likely make more.
Bear with us and give us feedback every single time we spell a kid’s name wrong or whatever, so we don’t do it again the following week.
We will highlight Levy County’s student-athletes in a positive manner, and we always appreciate ideas for future stories.
Hundreds already have found us on Facebook (@Chiefland Citizen-Sports) and have enjoyed the information, photos and videos we’ll continue to post daily.
We also welcome submitted photos from area teams and will always make a point to find a home for those shots somehwere in this section.
Just to note, we’ll still capture all the surroundings of game nights, with game stories and action photos.
We’re just adding a few new wrinkles.
Let us know what you think of the changes. Questions, comments and suggestions can be sent to email@example.com.
