Chiefland officials voted unanimously in favor of changing the qualifying period for this year's upcoming election.
The time was moved up a week to allow for more time before election day on Aug. 5, as well as accounting for City Hall being closed on Fridays.
The new qualifying period was set for June 9 - 12, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Seats for Group 2, now occupied by Mayor Teal Pomeroy, and Group 4, Vice Mayor Teresa Barron, are set to expire this year.
The election will take place at City Hall, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
