CAAA Majors wins Small League District

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS The Chiefland Area Athletic Associations Major League All-Stars were successful in tournament play June 5-9, capturing the Babe Ruth Small League District 6.

The Majors, comprised of 11 and 12 year olds, advance to the Big League District 6 event June 19-23 in Starke.

Chiefland won four games and dropped one in taking the title.

In the championship game, Chiefland defeated Melrose 6-2. Pitcher Jon Ward allowed one run in five innings. Tim Reidy had two triples. G'Angelo McClendon was 3-for-3 and Justin Ivey 2-for-3.
