CAAA hoops alive and well

The Chiefland Area Athletic Association will have a winter basketball season, after all.

Signups were initially slow, and it looked like there might not be any ball, but a very successful registration session on Saturday gave the CAAA satisfactory numbers.

"We sent out flyers to the schools and really got a good response,"said CAAA president Wayne Weatherford. "We have 75 kids now. It will be a small league, but we have enough."

The ages for those registered range from 5 to 14.
