By The Staff

A one-vehicle crash at the County Road 103 and Northeast 30th Street, a dogleg intersection, on Saturday at 11 p.m. claimed the life of Cacie-Leigh Morgan, 23, of Bronson, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Her death is the 14th traffic fatality in Levy County since Jan. 1.

Morgan was not wearing her seatbelt when the 2007 Ford Focus she was driving eastbound on Northeast 30th Street went through a stop sign despite her applying the brakes. The car went onto a grass shoulder on CR 103, collided with a warning sign and two fenceposts, becoming airborne. It hit two other fence posts before landing, turning over and ejecting Morgan.

She was pronounced dead by Levy County Emergency Medical Service.

The accident is being investigated by FHP Cpl. W. Dill.
