BRONSON -New Bronson High football coach Al Cooksey is getting his first look-see of the Eagles on the field, as spring practice has officially begun.

Players began working out Thursday and finished up workouts in helmets and shorts Monday. The pads were going on for the first time Tuesday.

"Its early. I dont know the kids well enough yet,"Cooksey said. "Every day I learn more about them."

The new coach has a lot of work laid out for the Eagles.

"Our emphasis is on conditioning-we're not in good shape,"he said. "I like the kids attitude. We need a better work ethic, though."

Cooksey had former Gator lineman Mo Mitchell helping him last week.

"We need to finf leadership," Cooksey said. "We have a large crop of seniors. We have 15 seniors. That's a good number."

Cooksey also plans to work the players hard in the weight room.

"Four days a week,"he said. "We have to catch up on that. We need to get stronger."
