The Bronson Chamber of Commerce is co-hosting a meet and greet and candidates' forum on Monday, Aug. 26, beginning at at 7 p.m. at Dogan Cobb Municipal Building. The gathering is designed to be positive and to allow candidates to present themselves and their platforms, without mentioning their challengers, in an informal atmosphere.

Candidates are being invited to mingle with the public, give a short speech and to answer questions submitted to and moderated by the Chamber. Only one race has already been decided for Bronson Town Council. Candidate Bruce Greenlee was the only one to qualify for Seat 5 and will replace Councilman Jason Kennedy who has qualified for Seat 3 held by Councilwoman and Vice Mayor Beatrice Roberts. Roberts is also being challenged by candidates former Mayor Jamie Griffin, also an ex-mayor, and Sandy Moseley.  Councilman Aaron Edmondson will face off with newcomer Paul T. Phillips for Seat 1.

Supervisor of Elections Tammy Jones and her staff will be on hand. Although it will be too late to register for the Sept. 10 Town Council election residents can get answers to their questions and register for future elections.

There will be light refreshments provided by the Chamber and the Chiefland Citizen.
