Bird tour in Dixie County on Monday

The Friends of the Lower Suwannee & Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuges will hold its monthly birding tour Monday, Feb. 7. 

The group meets at Gail's Cafe in Old Town at 8:30 a.m. for a brief breakfast get-together. The cafe is on the South side of U.S. Highway 19 at County Road 349, in the Hitchcock's shopping center. Please get there no later than 9 a.m.

The tour will head South on CR 349 to tour Salt Creek Road, a two-mile extension off of the Dixie Mainline, then proceed to Shired Island for lots of shore birds sightings.
