Bell High School sweeps VFW essay contest

   On April 5th, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Essay Awards were presented checks ranging from $125 to $200 dollars at Bell High School by Mr. Bruce McInnis, Commander of VFW Post 5625, and Mr. William Verville, District 7 Vice Commander.  
   The Voice of Democracy is facilitated by the Bell High School JROTC and is for high school students and the Patriots Pen is for middle school students in the Tri-County area.
   To enter the competition, the students had to write an essay, and send a tape of the essay to be judged. The Bell High School winners for the Voice of Democracy were 1st Place Paul Tousignant, 2nd Place Courtney Diamond, and 3rd Place Kristen Dennis.
   The Bell Middle School winners for the Patriot Pen essays were are 1st Place Hope Taylor, 2nd Place Jenna Terry, and 3rd Place Jarrett Douglas. Whether they won or not, all of the students who entered the competition wrote some wonderful essays, but for those who won, congratulations!
