New coach to instill discipline

By Lou Elliott Jones, Editor

The Chiefland High basketball team has been undisciplined in the past, but those days are over,  coach Mike Beck told the Chiefland Rotary Club on Oct. 21.

Beck, who is in his first season, briefed the Rotarians on what to expect this season. Beck, who retired from coaching in 2005 to move to Indiana and raise horses, returned to the Chiefland area a year ago. He previously coached in Lecanto.

“The basketball team this year is not what it has been,” Beck said.
