The Florida Department of Elder Affairs invites you to join the award-winning SHINE Program team of volunteers. The SHINE Program helps Medicare beneficiaries make informed decisions about Medicare and health insurance.
SHINE volunteers provide free, unbiased individual counseling on Medicare, Medicare Prescription Drug Plans, discounted or free drug programs, related health insurance and help some clients apply for low income programs. Volunteers may also make educational presentations to community groups or participate in local health fairs or senior outreach events.
Comprehensive training is provided with meals and travel related expenses reimbursed. The next scheduled Training Class is
June 12-14, from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Basic computer skills are required. A one day orientation class will be held at the end of May.
