Capital City Bank recently made a significant contribution to the Levy County Schools Foundation.

Andy Lott, vice president of the Chiefland office, presented a check in the amount of $6,000 to Levy County Schools Foundation Coordinator Angela Johnson.

The generous donation was made through the Capital City Bank Group Foundation, whose mission is to invest money and volunteer time in initiatives that can contribute to building a strong community.

The Levy County Schools Foundation will use the funds to supplement several of the programs that are currently in place throughout the public school system including the high school senior scholarship program, support of the Evening of Excellence which recognizes the Teacher, Educational Support Staff and Volunteer of the Year from each of the schools in Levy County,

The bank also provides a sponsorship of the Annual Cycle for Education which will be held in April.
