Appleton featuring Kashdin in retrospective

-A A +A

The Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, in Ocala, is highlighting the life and work of Dr. Gladys Shafran Kashdin in an exhibition that opened Saturday and will close Nov. 2.

“A Creative Life: Gladys Shafran Kashdin” will feature a selection of paintings, collages and drawings that were inspired by Kashdin’s love of nature – massive tree trunks with highly patterned surfaces, fractured rock facades and eroded canyons that become revelations of strength, dignity, power and endurance.

Kashdin’s artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally for more than 60 years.

Daily admission to the Appleton Museum is $8 for adults; $6 for seniors 55 or older, $5 for students 19 and over; $4 for youths ages 10-18; and free for members, CF students, children age 9 and under, and active military personnel and their immediate families.
