TALLAHASSEE — Following an investigation by Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, three Levy County residents were arrested by the Levy County Sheriff’s Office and the Chiefland Police Department.
Laurie Meeks and Stephanie Tindall are accused of billing the Medicaid program for nearly $80,000 for services never rendered, and Barbara Gamble for billing more than $3,500 for services never rendered.
The cases were referred to the Attorney General’s Office by the Agency for Health Care Administration, and the State Attorney’s Office for the Eighth Judicial Circuit will prosecute the cases.
If convicted, Meeks faces up to 35 years in prison, Tindall faces up to 20 years in prison, and Gamble faces up to five years in prison. Each also faces fines and restitution.
