The College of Central Florida Levy Center recognized 14 students who completed the Certified Nursing Assistant program on Wednesday, June 23.
Receiving Certificates of Completion were Megan Baird, Alethea Cook, Donna Cowart, Marzena Dziedzic, Shannon Eads, Shelbie Hastings, Ashley Hughes, Tabitha Joos, Kimberly Moore, Michael Pelletier, Natalie Quicksall, Susan Sanchez, Teresa Stephenson and Cody Williams. The CNA program prepares students to work in the health care field as a nursing assistant and to take and pass the Florida Certified Nursing Assistant exam. The program consists of 80 hours of classroom and lab training as well as 40 hours of clinical experience in a local health care facility. The students attended Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton for their clinical experience. All classes, except clinical training, are held at the CF Levy Center, 114 Rodgers Blvd. in Chiefland. A high school diploma or GED is not required. In addition to the CNA course, the Levy Center offers a variety of other courses including college credit, adult education, noncredit continuing education and adult high school.
