Next year, at about this time, the City of Chiefland will celebrate its 100th year of incorporation. The Chiefland Centennial Celebration has been in the works for about a year, and volunteers on the committee overseeing its arrangement have recently come up with a schedule of events for the affair.
The event, set to happen April 5–6, 2013, will include a community fish fry and dance, a parade, historical booths, displays and demonstrations, contests and cook-offs. The event culminates on a Saturday evening with a fireworks show at Strickland Park.
