Four Williston, Morriston teens injured in accident

Four teens who were not wearing seat belts were seriously injured on Friday evening when the truck they were riding in went out of control and overturned on County Road 339A just past State Road 500.

                  Alejandro Mora, was driving the 2000 Ranger, when he turned off SR 500 onto 339A, failed to negotiate the curve, went onto the north shoulder corrected to avoid a ditch and steered across the road toward the south shoulder when the vehicle began to spin, overturned two to three times before stopping, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

                  Mora, just 5 days away from turning 19th birthday, of Morriston, and the front seat passenger Caleb Ryan Hampton, 16, of Williston, were both ejected in the accident and in serious condition. They were taken to Shands Hospital.

                  The passengers, Armando Mora, also five days away from his 19th birthday, and Christina Hampton, 18, of Williston were also seriously injured in the crash. They were trapped in the vehicle when it overturned.

                  Charges are pending in the mishap.
